My Pages

 This project was fairly easy, we edited html codes and put our pages in our blogs(you can find mine at the bottom of my page) I had previous experience with coding before so it wasn't a hard concept to grasp. The app used to edit it was different but wasn't hard. I liked this project but I wish I had more time to add things, I'll most likely get to it later.

My House

 For this project, I made and animated a house in Google SketchUp. Definitely one of my favorite projects. I actually had time for once to add details. Granted, they may not be the best, but they're something. If had to change something, I would add more detail and add more colors.(I couldn't because SketchUp was acting weird and wouldn't let me.)

My 10 Words That Describe Me

For this project, we created and animated 10 words that describe me. It was a pretty easy project and I found it fun because I got to use a lot of my own creativity. All of these words represent me and I would do that again for fun honestly. Maybe I would add some music in the background.

Sketch Up Table and Chairs

For this we made a table and 4 chairs in Sketch Up. I think I could've made the chair tops less bland but I think it looks pretty good otherwise. Besides the huge table. I liked using the textures and being able to do what we wanted with the chairs ad tables. I even had time to add a wall even though I didn't have enough time to add a window.

Sketch Up Doghouse

For this project we used sketch up to make a doghouse. I could've made the roof better but I didn't have the time, and I really wanted to add in a dog. With me being the weird person I am, I added in that dog with the default human's body. I liked using sketch up and it was an interesting project.

Written Name Animation

For this animation we used Photoshop to animate our names. This was very interesting though I messed up on some parts that were supposed to have it look like I wrote it. But otherwise I think it looks very smooth and I definitely enjoyed it.

My Smiling Ball Animation

This animation was pretty fun, especially since I got to use Comic Sans.(I love it ironically) It was pretty choppy but I only had a limited time to complete it so I think it's pretty good.

About My Animation

I actually found this animation simple, mainly the only problem I had was figuring out the technology. I have previous animation skill so it was pretty easy. Though if I spend less time figuring out the technology next time, I'll try to make my next project less choppy than this one. Besides that, I think I did pretty well for not doing a serious animation project in about two years. I got the hang of the animation after a while and it was definitely a lot better software then the one I used before, and even then it wasn't much animation as much as it was a montage.

My Personality Type

My personality type is INFP, as you can see above. I am 38% more introvert than extrovert, 53% more intuitive than sensing, 25% more feeling than thinking, and 3% more perceiving than judging. Some celebrities that share my type are William Shakespeare, Johnny Depp, Nic Cage, and Tim Burton. For my animal personality, I got Otter as my top personality.

The type description of my personality type fits me extremely well. Except for my animal personality.

I am a very spiritual person and I seem cool if we are not very close. I tend to be loud if I'm with my close friends. I am also a healer as that is my type of personality. I want to help people and I am the one that all my friends come to for advice. I even want to be a psychologist and be a counselor when I get older. I also do tend to understand people on a deeper level. I try not to judge and I am accepting of literally everyone. I also tend to put myself in other people's shoes as well. I also do have a special affection for the arts, as an artist and musician is also something I strive to be. I don't think Otter fits me very well because I'm only social with my friends and some family, but I am fun and loud, but I'm not that social and I don't really like meeting new people.

Like I said before, I am the person that helps my friends. So I think "the Healer" fits extremely well for what role I play in groups. I normally feel pretty awkward when I'm in a different role I'm not familiar with, like I'm not much of a leader so I worry I'll mess up at those types of roles. People who have issues with me probably have them because I'm loud and can sometimes be obnoxious because I try too hard to be a good friend or worry too much or I'm too passionate of my views or interests. I also tend to be too emotional about my hobbies or interests. People who I tend to have problems with are normally too clingy, or don't care about what I have to say or seem not to care about me. Also I have problems with people who won't take into consideration my view points or at least respect them.

By doing this assignment, I've learned a lot more about myself and why I think the way I do. I've also learned about my roles in groups and how it all fits into my personality type. This assignment has actually opened my eyes to new things I didn't know about myself that I just figured out. 

Colleges Track Your Social Media?

      In the article titled, "They loved your GPA, then they saw your Tweets" by Natasha Singer in the New York Times, it says how colleges look through your social media to find out more about you. But when they do this, around 30% of high schoolers have been affected negatively by this. It has also been somewhat of a controversy too, since it could possibly violate your right to privacy.

      Some things that surprised me in the article, was the overall topic of the article. I had never thought that they would look through applicants social media, but it would make sense, as that is where teenagers are most open. It also surprised me that students would post such offense things online, as it never goes away, even if you delete it.

      Some questions I had were, is it illegal to do that? People do have a right to privacy, and even if their account is open to the public, wouldn't they still need consent from the applicant that it's okay to go on there? Or if they did find something offensive, at least talk to the applicant about it? I'm in no way saying it's right to post offensive things online, I'm just wondering if it violates any rights to privacy.

      My parents always told me to be careful of what I post online, and I have. I never am rude or make rude comments to anyone on social media. Plus I don't really use my social media all that often either. Therefore, this doesn't really change my veiw points on my own social media but people definitely have to watch what they post.

Photoshop Projects

The first project was fairly simple, as is the first projects normally. In this project I learned the basics of Photoshop and some of the most important tools we used in these next projects. I learned about opacity and have/will apply this/that knowledge to future projects.

The second project was probably my favorite project because it allowed me to be creative and put my own ideas into this project. We used colors and lots of selecting in this project to create this colorful butterfly. It was interesting and fun and the color part of this project, I will use in projects yet to be done.

In this project, we learned how to put in a faded background a bit more about transparency. It wasn't too hard, but I had some difficulty fixing the colors of the background and had some trouble with the text at first, but got the hang of it fairly quickly. I will use tools such as the faded background and the transparent text in future projects.

 

The final project we did was pretty fun, but it would have probably been more fun if I hadn't been on a time crunch. I got more practice in opacity and I loved the magic lasso feature. I had to go over the raven a lot but the tips I got in class helped a lot. I will use the magic lasso tool in future projects, and the Photoshop unit we did had to be one of my favorites. :)

Pathfinder Design

Using the pathfinder tutorial I figured out how to make this design. I found this to be a simple design to make but it was fun to make as well. I learned how to make right triangles and will use that skill in future projects as well. What I would do differently is probably choose a harder design because I always look for a challenge. I do really like how even the bottom part is so I think I'll strive for that in future projects. I will use the new tools I used and the ability to make the shapes linear. 

Typography

We have also been learning about typography as well as color theory and logos. I learned that there was actually parts of texts and there is a lot of meaning in fonts. I basically choose a font that fit me and examined it. I learned more tools about Illustrator as well. I would probably use a different font if I had to. I will use the tools I learned and the psychology of typography in future projects. I think this was an interesting project and was intriguing to learn about typography. 

My Personal Logo

We have been learning about logo design and color theory so I've designed some logos using different color palettes that represent me. The official logo I'm using is the bottom one, but I thought I'd include all my ideas to kind of see what I went through when I was designing it. I definitely was going to include fire because the intensity and passion that normally associates with fire represents me. I choose green as my final color for my name because I associate green with intelligence and that is something I strive for. Some experiences I will use is definitely color psychology.   

What Is Graphic Design?

Graphic design has already had a major impact on me. I love how you can express yourself and use colors to show how you feel, or make hidden messages behind your art. Ive always been so fascinated with the stories and messages behind art. I hope to learn more about graphic design on computers, since I've only learned how to draw and paint on a sheet of paper. I've always loved the process of digital drawing and I hope to learn a lot more about it.Since graphic design is important to business, I also hope that it will help me in the future.
